Rubber Division's Rubber Recycling Topical Group disbands
ERJ staff report (TB)
AKRON (Dec. 21, 2011) - The Rubber Recycling Topical Group of the American Chemical Society Rubber Division has decided to disband, according to the minutes of the RRTG's Dec. 1 meeting at Rubber Division headquarters in Akron.
Attendees at the meeting discussed the viability of the group, according to the minutes.
“They all believe education is important,†the document said. “However, they do not feel there needs to be a formal topical group. The group has decided to disband and form a formal subcommittee under (the) Education & Publications Committee, “Rubber Recycling Subcommittee.â€
There will no longer be an RRTG booth at the Expos, but the Recycling Pavilion will remain, the minutes said. Rubber recycling will remain part of the division's Technical Program, and there will continue to be recycling roundtables at the Fall Expos, they said.
