Shin-Etsu reports Q1 sales up 8.9%

Tokyo - Shin-Etsu Polymer, which makes silicone rubber products, has posted sales of Yen 15 billion (Euro 158 million) in its first quarter ended 30 June 2012, an 8.9 percent increase year-on-year.
Operating income was up 60.1 percent at Yen 262 million, while net income was Yen 21 million, up 92.9 percent compared to Q1 2011.
Shin-Etsu predicted full year (1 April 2012 - 31 March 2013) operating income of Yen 1.1 billion on sales of Yen 63 billion.
