CRIA outlines tyre export issues
ERJ staff report (DS)
Shanghai, China - The tyre branch of Cjhina's CRIA held its annual meeting on 8 August in Shanghai. Speakers outlined the challenges facing the industry.
Key among these is the slow demand in much of the Western world. Another main issue is the introduction of tre labels in Europe and elsewhere.
A long report on the CRIA website takes extracts from speeches given by all the main tyre-making companies in China.
Cai Weimin, chair of the CRIA tyre branch said key tyre enterprises believe that the EU labeling law implemented on November 1 will not be much impact on exports. They have been preparing for this and upgrading technology, so the new rules are not expected to have much impact.
This preparation has meant that most tyre makers can produce tyres for the E-class on the label, with a few managing B-B ratings.
