Indianapolis, Indiana -- Firestone Industrial Products has added an air spring factory in Tianjin, China.
The plant in the Jingin Industrial park is the centerpiece of the Bridgestone Corp. division's plan to meet the global needs of its heavy-duty customers worldwide, according to John Vincent, president of Firestone Industrial Products. The firm now has manufacturing and sales in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
The operation will make Airide air springs for heavy-duty vehicle suspension applications.
The cost, employment and other details of the new plant weren't disclosed.
