NR prices recover following Tripartite announcement

London - Rubber prices jumped on Friday 17 August, following the announcement of supply restriction by the Tripartite Council. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract were up 5 at just under yen 222 ($2.79). Shorter-dated prices recovered strongly to trade around yen 214 toward the end of Friday's evening session.
In Singapore, the February 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX was trading up by 10 at $2.55; September 2012 prices rose by 7 cents, to trade around $2.53 toward the end of the Friday evening session.
In India, NMCE said September prices closed up 6 at Rs 169 ($3.03). October prices also rose, to close a just under Rs 168.
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for August recovered by a fraction of a yuan at Yuan 21.8 ($3.43) per kilo on Friday. September prices rose by half a yuan to close at yuan 21.9.
