Continental establishes China software and system R&D centre

New unit to will support Conti through China’s automotive transformation towards "electrification, intelligence and networking."
Shanghai, China – Continental AG has established a software and system R&D centre in the Chinese city of Chongqing to strengthen its local software development capabilities, the company has announced.
The centre, established as part of Conti’s localisation strategy in China, aims to improve local capabilities in areas such as design development, agile modelling and design execution, and software and system engineering.
The unit will aim to boost the development of intelligent connected cars and smart travel, said Tang En, president and CEO of Continental China 9 July.
The centre, he added, will help Conti respond to customer needs more quickly, provide them with “innovative technologies and more flexible solutions”.
The R&D unit will support Conti through China’s automotive transformation towards "electrification, intelligence and networking."
In particular, the unit will target innovations in advanced driver assistance systems, end-to-end networking, domain and cross-domain high-performance computer units and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
