New structure to nearly double the South Carolina site's office space
Fort Mill, South Carolina – Continental Tire the Americas LLC is planning to expand its headquarters complex in Fort Mill to accommodate the continuous growth of its executive staff.
The tire maker has committed $20 million (€17 million) for an office building for up to 400 employees, said a company statement 28 Oct.
At 88,000 square feet, the new structure will nearly double the office space Continental has at the South Carolina complex, where the firm has housed support operations of its tire business throughout North and South America since 2009.
"We are excited to invest in our campus and bring our team together in a new, fresh space that includes modern features and design to support the future work environment," Jochen Etzel, Continental Tire the Americas' CEO, said.
The addition, expected to be completed by mid-2022, will enable Continental to consolidate its footprint and provide the space needed to support the continuous growth of its operations.
In line with Conti's "Vision 2030" corporate strategy, the new structure will have an array of sustainability features such as photovoltaic solar panels on the roof to support the facility's energy needs, along with ample meeting and collaboration space for the headquarters staff.
