First Barez camp to focus on industrial parts supply, which has been impacted by sanctions
Tehran – Leading Iranian tire maker Barez Group has announced a new initiative to help support startups and invest further in new technologies offered by the companies.
Barez camp, launched earlier this month, will hold a series of challenges each focusing on a specific subject, such as machinery, innovation, raw materials, marketing and production processes, said the tire maker in an announcement 25 Sept.
The “camps” will attract relevant startups to identify and support academic- and scientific-orientated companies and to offer development support.
In the initial stage, Barez will offer a three-month accelerator programme to up to six startups and will choose three participants for further investment.
The initiative will look to increase Barez’s "quality and leadership" in the tire industry, while offering logistics, production and quality control services to the selected startups.
The selected companies will also be allowed to visit Barez factories, use the group’s lab facilities and receive technical and management support from the tire maker.
The first Barez camp, will focus on industrial parts supply, which has been greatly impacted by sanctions on Iran.
Here, Barez will look to invest in startups with digital and connectivity focus and help develop an infrastructure for the production of mechanical and electronic parts.
