Product demonstrates enhanced thermal stability and dispersion compared to other vulcanisation agents
Shanghai, China – Eastman Chemical Co. has developed a thermally stable insoluble sulphur for the tire industry with “multiple unique features” that enable sustainable tire quality.
Presenting the product along with strategic partner Double Coin Tires during a recent China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) conference, Eastman said Crystex Cure Pro lowers operational costs with faster dispersion, enhanced thermal stability and superior flow compared to other rubber vulcanisation agents.
According to Double Coin, the product demonstrates enhanced thermal stability and improved dispersion compared to Crystex HD OT 20, of the same product line.
The improvements, said Double Coin vice director of research Jiang Qi, were proved by the company’s in-house high thermal stability testing technique, which “is efficient with less manual dependence compared with the conventional measurement technique.”
The two partners studied the new additive at Eastman’s recently opened lab in Shanghai, which according to the chemicals supplier provides “state-of-the-art” services to the rubber industry.
Opened in 2019, the lab is equipped with analytical, rubber compounding, and rubber testing equipment, Eastman said.
The CRIA tire branch membership conference took place on 15 Sept and was attended by 200 professionals from tire-related enterprises.
