Smithers names new materials testing boss as polymer services expands

Natalie Jordan will support clients in transportation, energy and industrial components sectors
Shropshire, UK – UK consulting and testing company Smithers has appointed Dr Natalie Jordan as director of materials testing operations, as part of a bid to expand its polymer services.
Jordan, who took over the position in July, is responsible for developing materials testing services to support clients across a range of industries including transportation, energy and industrial components, said Smithers in a statement.
Based at Smithers’ Shropshire, UK laboratories, she will lead the analytical chemistry and physical materials testing teams specialising in testing plastics and rubber.
Jordan brings with her over 15 years of technology and management experience in the advanced composites industry with a particular focus on the aerospace, automotive and oil and gas sectors.
She has a BSc in applied physics from Liverpool John Moores University and a PhD in polymer physics from Reading University.
