UK elastomer company relocates following acquisition

Warrington, UK – UK-based Elastomer Engineering Ltd is relocating from its base in Lymm, in Northwest England to Leyland, Lancashire about two hours further north.

The move follows the engineering company’s acquisition in July last year by Dexine Leyland Rubber Technology Ltd, said Elastomer Engineering 7 July.

The project has already seen the transfer of the polyurethanes production facility to Leyland, which was completed in December last year. 

The relocation process was originally scheduled to complete in 2021 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a decision was made to accelerate the transfer throughout the lockdown period, said managing director Chris Turner.

As of 13 July, Turner said, all manufacturing activities are operational on the Leyland site and all materials will be dispatched from that location.

The project will conclude with closure of the Lymm site at the end of July 2020.

Julie Gardner, sales office manager will leave the company at the end of July, while Karl Cartwright will remain as sales manager. Tony Lowe, previously quality manager now becomes business unit manager moulding.
