Unit to meet demand from customers in North America, says supplier of automated materials-handling systems
Grimsby, Ontario – Strong growth in the U.S. and Mexico has led Cimcorp North America to open a new, larger office in Georgia, moving from a facility in Norcross in the northern-central portion of the state to Alpharetta, a suburb just north of Atlanta.
According to Cimcorp, the facility will serve US and Mexican customers and boasts added workshop space for more localised aftermarket services in the turnkey robotic order fulfilment and tire-handling industry.
In addition, the facility will have a showroom that demonstrates some of Cimcorp's automated material handling solutions.
The facility officially opened 1 July.
"While our previous Norcross location served us well in establishing our US-based operations and services, it offered only room for office space," said Rick Trigatti, president of Cimcorp Automation Ltd.
"Since its opening in 2016, we have seen tremendous growth in the United States, as more organisations have recognised the operational and business benefits of automating their plants, warehouses and distribution centres."
Joel Kuusman, manager of US operations and technology services for Cimcorp, said the new facility will allow for repair work, spare parts storage and the ability to "uphold our commitment to quality support."
"With this greater capacity and these expanded capabilities, our customers can continue to trust in the reliability, accuracy and speed of our solutions long into the future," Kuusman said.
In addition to space for offices and the workshop, the facility also will contain a showroom for Cimcorp's 3D Shuttle solution, an automated storage and retrieval system for order picking.
Cimcorp said this system is "ideal for e-commerce, retail and food service distribution." In the showroom, customers can see first-hand how the robotic gantry system operates as it stores and retrieves items with a shuttle device from plastic crates, totes, bins and containers.
The new office is located at 1867-B McFarland Parkway, Alpharetta, Ga., 30005.
Cimcorp Group is a division of Murata Machinery Ltd. (Muratec).
