Petition targets products originating in or exported from China, the European Union, Japan and Russia
New Delhi – The government of India has launched antidumping investigations into the import of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) originating in or exported from China, the European Union, Japan and Russia.
The investigations were initiated upon an application by local manufacturer Apcotex Industries Ltd, said a 26 May statement by the commerce ministry's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR).
The Apcotex petition alleged that dumping of the product from these countries were causing material injury to the domestic industry.
The period of investigation will be from 1 July 2019 to 31 Dec 2019, according to DGTR.
The investigations will look to “determine the existence, degree and effect of any alleged dumping of the product from these nations.”
If an injury is established, DGTR will recommend the amount of anti-dumping duty, which it said would be adequate to remove the injury to the domestic industry.
