New nano technology in compound enhances wet and snow performance
Brussels – Bridgestone Corp. has launched its first ever all-season tire for the light truck segment which it says has ‘robust and durable construction’ and delivers ‘excellent’ wear performance.
To be available as of August, the Duravis All Season has an EU label A-grade for wet grip and 3PMSF certification, said Bridgestone 12 June.
To improve its wet grip and wear performance, the tire features high-volume slots in its shoulder for improved water evacuation and an optimised contact pressure distribution.
A combination of compound design, a V-shaped layout to improve snow mobility and an optimised carcass construction also make the tire ‘fully winter-ready’, Bridgestone added.
The tire maker said it employed its ‘nano-selective compound mixing technology’, which allows better silica dispersion in its Nano Pro-tech compound. The compound, it added, enhances the tire’s wet and snow performance.
To increase durability, Bridgestone said it had applied a sidewall protector rib to shield the tire from impacts with the curb. The tire also provides good wear performance, helped by higher pattern stiffness.
Commenting on the release of the tire, Emilio Tiberio, chief technical officer and chief operating officer at Bridgestone Europe said the tire can "minimise downtime periods and reduce overall total cost of ownership.”
