Bridgestone names new chief operating officer

Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has named Masahiro Higashi as global chief operations officers (COO) and chief administration officer (CAO), effective 1 July.

Higashi is currently the vice chair of the group and chief solution officer for strategy, finance and human resources.

Prior to this, Higashi served as SVP and executive officer responsible for global mining, aircraft, agriculture as well as global business enhancement and other areas of business.

In an 11 May statement, Bridgestone said Higashi will replace Akihiro Eto, who will take over as the chair of the supervisory board of Bridgestone Europe, Russia, Middle East, India and Africa (BSMEIA) as of 1 July. 

Higashi joined Bridgestone in 1985 and has served in high managerial positions since 2011.
