Respiratory masks developed by German 3D printing specialist LMD Innovation
Hamburg, Germany – German 3D-printing specialist LMD Innovation GmbH has developed professional respiratory masks for protection against Covid-19, using elastic thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) materials from Lehvoss Group.
The mask is produced using laser sintering power Luvosint TPU and clings “perfectly” to the face for secure and tight sealing, Lehvoss said in a 27 April statement.
The ‘elastic and highly resilient’ components printed from the TPU can be cleaned in the dishwasher and have been certified by FDA, the statement added.
In addition to standard sizes, LMD can manufacture personalised masks for individual users via a face-scanning app.
