Tire maker resumes production activities partially while adhering to health guidelines
Mumbai, India – Apollo Tyres Ltd has resumed production operations at most of its manufacturing sites in India and Europe, according to a 25 April BSE filing.
The tire maker halted output at its sites in Kalamassery and Perambra, Kerala; Limda, Gujarat and Chennai in Tamil Nadu on 24 March following a nationwide lockdown to control the spread of Covid-19
In its BSE filing, Apollo said factories in Kalamassery and Limda had partially resumed operations while adhering to official health guidelines.
The tire maker already started partial production at its factory in Perambra, Kerala, on 21 April.
In addition, the latest filing noted that Apollo's manufacturing plant in Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary, was to partially resume production as of 28 April.
Apollo had temporarily closed its passenger car tire production unit in Gyöngyöshalász and heavily scaled back manufacturing at its plant in Enschede, The Netherlands, since 24 March.
The stock exchange filing did not give status updates for the Enschede and Chennai plants.
