Contractors sought hospital treatment following incident at Canadian production facility
Sarnia, Canada – Arlanxeo is investigating why two contractors working at the company’s plant in Sarnia became ill several hours after conducting work on a tower at the plant.
Both workers sought precautionary treatment at a hospital after the incident on 18 April, the company said in a statement supplied 27 April to ERJ.
Both contractors were released from hospital last week, said Arlanxeo, adding that “the exact cause of their illness is still under investigation.”
The company said both it and the Sarnia plant’s management “are committed to safe, responsible operations on behalf of our employees, our community and the environment.”
Arlanxeo produces butyl rubber at the Canadian facility, which has a listed capacity of 150 kilotonnes per annum.
