The tire maker says manufacturing operations remain suspended at European sites
Mumbai, India – Apollo Tyres Ltd has resumed partial production at one of its manufacturing plants in India, according to a recent stock exchange filing.
The tire maker started manufacturing activities at its factory in Perambra, Kerala on 21 April, after government directives exempting its operations from lockdowns, Apollo said in a 22 April BSE filing.
The tire maker halted operations at its sites in Kalamassery and Perambra, Kerala; Limda, Gujarat and Chennai in Tamil Nadu on 24 March following a nationwide lockdown to control the spread of Covid-19
In addition, Apollo has temporarily closed its passenger car tire production unit in Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary and heavily scaled back manufacturing at its plant in Enschede, The Netherlands.
In a 23 April statement to ERJ, the company said it would update on other plants in India and overseas, “as and when they resume production.”
