Company set up a "senior leadership response team” to monitor Covid-19
Lisburn, UK – Conveyor belt producer Smiley Monroe is extending the temporary closure of all its sites in Northern Ireland for another two weeks until 4 May, in response to the spread of Covid-19.
The Lisburn, Northern Ireland-based manufacturer had originally announced that it was idling its sites in Northern Ireland for 21 days as of 27 March.
In a 16 April statement, Smiley Monroe said its company’s factory in Hosur, India, will also remain temporarily closed. However, the company will review the decision “next week” in line with updated government guidelines.
The manufacturer is also reviewing the developments in the US before making any decisions on the temporary closure of its factory in Kentucky.
Smiley Monroe said a senior leadership “response team” monitors the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic situation on a daily basis.
