Japanese company also collaborating with other partners to broaden the application of the product
Kiyosu, Japan – Toyoda Gosei has invested in data and cloud computing business Uhuru Corp as it aims to further develop its e-Rubber technology.
Based in Minato-Ku Japan, Uhuru provides software systems and “has a solid track record” in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing, said Toyoda Gosei 8 April.
The investment, the details of which were not disclosed, is part of a Toyoda Gosei long-term initiative to create new businesses and develop automotive products for CASE (connected, autonomous, shared, electric) technologies.
As part of this, Toyoda Gosei said it aimed to add value to e-Rubber, a material that moves when voltage is applied. It can also function as a thin, flexible pressure sensor.
The collaboration with Uhuru will look into enhancing the product through using the data gained from sensors.
Toyoda Gosei is also collaborating with other partners to broaden the application of the product.
