Conti resumes some production operations in Romania

German group restarts manufacturing of tires and industrial products at sites in Timisoara
London – Continental Corp. has restarted some of its production operations in Romania following temporary closures put in place to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Our location producing tires in Timisoara had the activity suspended temporarily between 25 March and 7 April,” said Miodrag Hojda, media relations officer at Continental Romania in a 14 April written statement to ERJ.
In addition, a ContiTech manufacturing plant in Timisoara, where it produces belts and air conditioning lines, has restarted operations after a temporary suspension between 30 March and 10 April.
ContiTech’s hose lines production factories in Nadab and Carei will continue to have their activity suspended temporarily until 30 April, the statement added.
In addition, most of the company’s administrative employees and R&D staff have been allowed remote working for an extended period of time where possible.
