French distributor says it faces high demand for quality titanium dioxide pigments in France
Paris-La Défense – French distributor Safic-Alcan has extended its contract to distribute titanium dioxide pigment products by US chemicals supplier Tronox Ltd in France.
Effective 1 April, Safic-Alcan will sell the entire ranges of Tronox TiONA branded TiO2 pigments in France, the French distributor announced 8 April.
Safic-Alcan has been distributing the Tronox Titanium Dioxide CR_826, CR828, CR470, and CR8400 in France since 2012. The deal has now been extended to the range of TiONA from Cristal, a company spokeswoman said in a statement to ERJ.
In addition, two other Safic-Alcan subsidiaries distribute dioxide titanium from Tronox: Safic-Alcan Kimya (Turkey) since 2012 and Safic-Alcan Necarbo (Benelux) since the early 1980s, she added.
Titanium dioxide is used for surface modification and enhancement of colours in the rubber industry.
“This extended agreement is the result of our longstanding relationship and successful partnership with Tronox, a leading producer of TiO2,” said Philippe Combette, CEO of Safic-Alcan.
According to Combette, Safic-Alcan faces high demand for quality titanium dioxide pigments in France.
