Company has also signed a four-year contract to supply the US army with its body armour plates
Melksham, UK - Avon Rubber plc has signed a contract with the US Department of Defense for the supply of M69 aircrew masks, the company has announced.
The contract is worth $21 million (€19.4 million) and deliveries are expected to be completed in the current financial year, ending September, Avon said in a 28 Feb statement.
Separately, Avon announced in early March that its protections business had been awarded a four-year contract to supply the US army with body armour plates.
The company said it has already received an initial $20-million order to supply X-Side Ballistic Insert (XSBI) body armour plates to the US military, with deliveries starting in early 2021.
Part of its vital torso protection range, the XSBI plates are developed by 3M’s ballistic-protection business, which Avon earlier in January.
