German group “gradually adapting” production at its plants around the world
Hanover, Germany – Continental Corp. has temporarily halted production at some of its manufacturing plants in the aftermath of the global outbreak of Covid-19, the German group announced in a 20 March press release.
Without giving further details, the automotive supplier said it was “supporting affected sites for example by providing our employees with personal protective equipment, if available.”
Continental also said that it was “gradually adapting” production at its plants around the world in coordination with customers and suppliers.
The measures, Conti went on to say, are specific to the respective situation in its markets and countries and follow the regulations issued by local authorities.
"We are also adapting our cost structure to the strong decrease in call-offs from our customers," said the German group, "In light of the current extremely challenging market situation, we are thus ensuring our capacity to act.”
