Deal to supply calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide products in Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland
Barnetby, UK – Birch Chemicals has appointed Behn Meyer Europe GmbH to distribute its calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide products in Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland.
The deal includes Innovox-branded calcium oxide, a desiccant used in a wide variety of rubber products, and Innovoh calcium hydroxide, used as an activator in FKM blends, the Barnetby, UK-based Birch announced 6 March.
The rubber chemicals are claimed to offer higher purity, higher surface area and powerful performance.
Innovox, according to Birch, delivers "rapid desiccant action" preventing the porosity caused by moisture in fillers such as calcium carbonate, polymers, plasticisers or carbon blacks.
“It is proven that rubber compounds perform more effectively and consistently with Innovox giving improved quality, reduced scrap levels and lower desiccant addition rates,” the company added.
Based in Hamburg, Germany, Behn Meyer is a speciality chemical supplier to the rubber and plastics industries, with a network covering over 30 countries worldwide.
The new deal sees the two companies expanding an already-existing partnership in Southeast Asia to European core markets, according to Birch.
