Based on industrial image processing know-how, the technology enables optical 2D and 3D inspection of tires
Alsdorf, Germany – The 4Jet Group has acquired the tire inspection systems (TIS) business of German machinery and technology company Hennecke Systems.
TIS systems are based on Hennecke Systems’ industrial image processing technology and enable optical 2D and 3D inspection of tire treads, sidewalls, rims and mounted wheels, 4Jet announced 21 Feb.
The process also enables DOT codes, colour stripes and tire profiles to be read out, virtually enabling the identification of “every tire” in a “reliable manner and in market leading speed,” said the German laser systems specialist.
4JET said the acquisition complements its portfolio of products for tire traceability, such as the Scannect QR Code technology, and will strengthen its competence in the field of machine vision.
The parties did not disclose the details of the deal.
