Effective as of mid-March, price changes may vary across specific products
Greenville, South Carolina – Michelin North America Inc. is raising prices on selected Michelin-, BFGoodrich- and Uniroyal-brand passenger and light truck tires by up to 7% in the US and 5% in Canada, effective 16 March.
The price changes may vary across specific products within each brand portfolio, Michelin said, without elaborating on its reasons for raising prices.
Details will be presented directly to dealers, with additional questions addressed directly through account managers, the company said.
Michelin raised prices on passenger/light truck tires twice in 2019 in the US and Canada by up to 5% — on 1 Sept and 1 Jan.
It also raised prices 1 Dec by up to 4.9% for Michelin- and BFGoodrich-brand truck tires and Michelin Retread Technologies and Oliver-brand retread products in the US and Canada, and on 1 July on Uniroyal-brand commercial tires and "select" Michelin-brand off-highway products by as much as 6%.
Michelin is the second tire maker to announce price increases recently. Sumitomo Rubber North America Inc. is planning to raise prices on select Falken-brand tire lines by up to 5%, effective 1 March.
