Company has “sizeable market share” in the country's commercial and passenger vehicle tire segments
Kathmandu – Apollo Tyres has stepped up its activities in south Asia with the opening of a new sales office in Nepal, the Indian tire maker announced 29 Jan.
Inaugurated by Rajesh Dahiya, VP marketing, sales & service, the unit marks Apollo’s first office in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region outside of India.
Apollo said it was building a “complete team of sales and service personnel” in Nepal, in view of the country’s high growth potential and increasing progress in terms of infrastructure.
“Over the past few years we have been making steady inroads into the Nepalese market,” explained Dahiya at the opening ceremony.
According to Dahiya, Apollo’s product range fits well with the Nepalese consumer requirements and the company has been able to penetrate “most of the replacement tire market segments.”
“Now that we have a foothold in Nepal, we believe it is the perfect time to step up our focus in this market,” he added.
Apollo claims to have a “sizeable market share” in the commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle tire segments in Nepal.
Nepal, the tire maker said, contributes more than 35% of the company’s exports to SAARC countries.
