Italian tire maker on the Climate A list prepared by the CDP - former Carbon Disclosure Project
Milan, Italy – Pirelli & C. SpA has been awarded a top rating on the Climate A list prepared by the CDP for the second year in a row, the Italian tire maker announced 20 Jan.
According to the Milan-based group, the recognition by CDP (former Carbon Disclosure Project) confirms its “constant commitment to sustainability.”
CDP is an international non-profit organisation which circulates information on environmental issues.
The organisation’s mission is to help companies and governments to reduce hothouse gas emissions and protect water resources and forests.
CDP ratings are based on the effectiveness of a company’s efforts to cut emissions, reduce climate risks and develop ‘the low-carbon economy’.
Pirelli was also named among the top Dow Jones sustainability leaders in the ‘auto components sector’ in 2019, earned “gold class distinction” in RobecoSAM’s 2019 and was included in the UN Global Compact Lead (UNGC) in 2019.
