Dellner Bubenzer acquires AVS specialist in UK

Borlänge, Sweden – Braking products manufacturer Dellner Bubenzer Group has strengthened its polymer engineering capabilities with the acquisition of Silentbloc UK Ltd, a specialist in intelligent antivibration technologies.

The Swedish group will merge Silentbloc and its existing UK polymer engineering company Dellner Woodville Ltd to create a new division called Dellner Polymer Solutions division, Dellner said in a 13 Jan statement.

The new division will provide “technologically advanced" rubber fabrication and bonding solutions for global markets, including the rail, industrial, defence, off-highway and mining sectors.

Dellner Woodville and Silentbloc are located five miles away from each other in Swadlincote and Burton on Trent respectively. 

The newly created division will have its headquarters in Burton on Trent and employ 45 people. 

Frank Walsh has been appointed as the CEO of the division, effective in the second quarter of 2020, according to Marcus Aberg, CEO of the Dellner Bubenzer Group. 

Until then, Walsh will continue as managing director for Silientbloc and Gary Shuttleworth as managing director for Dellner Woodville. 

“With Dellner Woodville’s pedigree in polymer fabrication and Silentbloc’s expertise in rubber to metal bonding, this is the perfect partnership for us,” said Aberg.

Shuttleworth described the partnership as “great news” for Dellner Woodville, adding that it was “an important step forward” in the company’s strategic growth plans.

By combining the "technologically outstanding companies", Shuttleworth said the company will provide "an enhanced, streamlined offering for our customers.”

Based in Borlänge, Sweden, Dellner Bubenzer Group includes Dellner Brakes AB, Germany’s Pintsch Bubenzer GmbH, Italy’s Rima Srl and the new company incorporating UK-based Dellner Woodville and Silentbloc. 

The group has 500 employees and operates primarily within the material handling, rail, marine and industrial sectors.

The company has facilities in Sweden, the UK, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, the US, Dubai, India, Malaysia, Singapore and China.
