Move will help Swedish group achieve "more focused" printing blankets operation
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg AB has finalised the divestment of its rubber-covered rollers production operation in Cernay, France, the company announced 8 Jan.
Part of the Swedish group’s printing blankets activities, the operation has been sold to the Belgian Hannecard Group, for an undisclosed amount.
With 2018 annual sales of SEK70 million (€6.6 million), the divested operation was deconsolidated on 7 Jan, said Trelleborg’s release.
Rubber-covered rollers produced by the facility are used, for example, in the embossing or gluing of tissues, as well as in rubber belts used in fabric-shrinking processes.
Trelleborg had recently placed the operation within ‘businesses under development’ category, for company operations with weak profitability.
Describing it a “local non-core printing blankets operation”, Trelleborg said the unit accounted for a very small part of the group.
The move will help Trelleborg achieve “a more focused” printing blankets operation, said Dario Porta, business unit president of its printing blankets operation.
