Trelleborg adds new production line at Swedish plant

Kalmar, Sweden - Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) has inaugurated a new production line at its brake shim manufacturing facility in Kalmar.

Increasing production capacity at the site “significantly”, the line includes triple stations of adhesive lamination and a vision system with marking robots, said Trelleborg in a 29 Nov statement.

The marking robots, according to Trelleborg, will improve flexibility in manufacturing and enhance quality control at the site.

“Increasing our capacity at the Kalmar facility will enable us to fulfil our commitment to delivering continued growth and meeting growing market demands,” said Stefan Lundström, president for TSS damping solutions.

The investment, he went on to say, is a “significant step” in meeting customers’ demands and “the next evolution in brake shim materials.”
