Shuichi Ishibashi to replace Masaaki Tsuya after the Bridgestone board of directors’ meeting in March 2020
Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has named Shuichi Ishibashi as the company’s new global chief executive officer (CEO), the tire & rubber company announced 13 Dec.
Ishibashi will replace Masaaki Tsuya after the Bridgestone board of directors’ meeting and approval in March 2020, the company added.
Ishibashi joined Bridgestone in 1977 and has “great experience” in the tire and diversified products segments in the US and Japan, the company statement said.
In 2012, he helped Bridgestone develop a new global business model for its solution business and its OE business.
Most recently, he served as vice chair and representative executive officer at Bridgestone, with his responsibilities covering strategy planning, technology, quality management and corporate administration.
Also as of March 2020, former vice chair for mining, aircraft, agricultural solutions Masahiro Higashi, will assume the role of vice chair and global chief solution officer responsible for solution strategy, finance and human resources, concurrently responsible for global OE strategy.
