Kocaeli-based supplier moving ‘pre-production’ activities from its tire-curing press plant to a new building
Kocaeli, Turkey – Tire machinery maker Uzer Makina has launched a new expansion project, following on from a recent doubling of capacity across its operations.
The Kocaeli-based supplier is set to move ‘pre-production’ activities from its tire-curing press plant to a new building, the company reported 9 Dec to ERJ.
Scheduled for completion in early 2020, the 6500 m2 building will house processes for the storage of steel raw materials, cutting, bending, construction, welding, sandblasting and furnace heat treatment.
The new unit will increase both mould- and press-production capacity at Uzer Makina, according to Mehmet Ak?n K?l?ç, marketing & business development engineer.
“This expansion is about both increasing demand and our willingness to increase the proportion and the quality of the operations that is done in-house,” said K?l?ç.
“We’ll also utilise the remaining area from the press plant with additional press assembly areas and establish a brand-new painting shop too,” he pointed out.
The facility continues a series of expansions at Uzer Makina, which has seen annual production increase from 60-70 presses in 2017 to 150 presses in 2018.
For the ERJ Machinery Survey 2019, Uzer Makina reported annual sales of $71.3 million and employment of around 400 across its rubber machinery manufacturing operations.
