Outsole made of sustainably sourced natural rubber
Boston, Massachusetts – Footwear specialist Reebok has unveiled a plant-based shoe that is claimed to rival the best performance running sneakers on the market.
To be launched in autumn 2020, the Forever Floatride Grow is an updated version of Reebok’s Forever Floatride Energy, and uses sustainable natural ingredients, including natural rubber.
The company said the outsole of the shoe is made of “sustainably sourced” natural rubber and is “flexible, durable and responsive”.
The most significant sustainability advancement, according to Reebok, is the shoe’s “highly cushioned, responsive midsole”, which is built from sustainably grown castor beans.
The sockliner utilises Bloom algae foam, which is harvested from invasive growth areas and is naturally odour resistant.
