Misselling of fluoroelastomer products as "genuine Viton" remains a major concern for Chemours
Wolverhampton, UK – Chemours Co. has revalidated UK rubber company MacLellan Rubber Ltd as an authorised distributor of its Viton rubber brand.
Marketed under Genuine Viton compounds, MacLellan Rubber manufactures Viton rubber sheeting materials for technical applications.
The rubber, according to MacLallen, provides “exceptional chemical resistance at elevated temperatures,” making it suitable for applications in aerospace and petrochemical seals and gaskets.
MacLallen first became an official partner with Chemours to sell Viton materials in 2017, said Simon Winfield, director at MacLellan in a statement 21 Nov.
The re-signing of the license agreement, he added, was evidence that Chemours trusted the company to sell “genuine” products made with Viton.
According to Winfield, the misrepresentation of fluoroelastomer products being miss-sold as genuine Viton remains “a major concern for Chemours”.
“The accreditation given through the authorised distributor programme provides customers with a genuine guarantee of quality compliance,” the company added.
