Nicosia – Linglong Tire has opened a new "brand shop" in the Cypriot capital of Nicosia, where it also held its European dealers conference 11-13 Oct.
The new shop is in addition to two existing Linglong brand shops run by a local distributor in Cyprus, the Chinese tire maker announced 16 Oct.
Linglong also held its European dealers summit in Nicosia where it laid out its current trade, production, R&D and marketing strategies for the region.
Attended by nearly 60 European distributors and Linglong chairman Wang Feng, the summit heard measures to be taken by the tire maker to increase its presence in Europe.
“Linglong would make a clear product positioning, carry out more dimensional marketing planning, form a more professional sales service team, and vigorously develop and promote new products and technologies for the European market,” said Wang Feng addressing the event.
Linglong pursues a “5+3” growth strategy which involves five production plants inside China and three overseas.
As part of the plan, the company is currently building a €863-million production plant in northern Serbia, which at full capacity will manufacture 13.62 million radial tires per year.
Linglong said in March that the Serbian unit and the development of European sales will help it become the world’s 10th largest tire maker.
