Designed to produce 4.2 million units at full capacity, the Aksaray factory is a joint investment by Sabancı Holding and Bridgestone Corp.
Istanbul – Lassa Tyres is ramping up tire production at its Aksaray smart factory, established with a $300-million (€271 million) joint investment by owning partners Sabanc? Holding and Bridgestone Corp. Tyres.
Designed to produce 4.2 million units at full capacity, Lassa’s second tire plant has “reached important production figures in less than a year,” said a 25 Oct release.
With the combined capacity of Aksaray and Kocaeli Plants, Lassa is producing one tire in every 2.5 seconds, according to the company statement.
The Brisa Bridgestone Sabanc? Tyre Manufacturing Inc. facility employs advanced technologies including fully automatic tire transfer system, simultaneous tire tracking, cyber platforms and augmented reality.
A digital twin set-up enables operators to follow-up tires with remote technology and intervene any problems within two minutes, noted Lassa Tyres’ statement.
The plant, added Lassa, delivers “zero defect” production, consumes 30% less energy than a conventional facility and recirculates rain and wastewater back to the system.
Over the last five years, Lassa said it has grown exports levels by 10% (CAGR), sales figures by 60% and market-territory 41% through increased the number of countries it operates in.
