Company's third ‘Industrial 4.0’ factory in China with full-process smart manufacturing
Shiyan, China – Doublestar started trial production at its passenger car tire factory in Shiyan, Hubei on 21 Oct.
It is Doublestar’s third ‘Industrial 4.0’ factory in China with full-process smart manufacturing, said a company announcement.
The factory covers 400,000-square-metre total area and broke ground in 2018. Its annual designed capacity contains 5 million units passenger car tires and 1.5 million units truck and bus tires.
The site will manufacture mid- to high-end products, such as military speciality tires and new-energy vehicle tires, said the release.
On the same day, Doublestar also broke ground on a scrap tire recycling plant at its Shiyan site, the company’s second scrap tire plant in China.
The project covers 100,000-square-metre total area with €40.6 million (320 million yuan) earmarked. It has 100,000 tonne annual designed capacity.
At the plant, scrap tires will be turned into primary oil, carbon black, steel cord and fuel gas. Everything in a tire can be recycled and the process has “zero pollution, zero emission, zero residue,” said the company.
