Berwyn, Pennsylvania – Trinseo SA is undergoing a major turnaround at its emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber (ESBR) plant in Schkopau, Germany.
Berwyn, Pennsylvania – Trinseo SA is undergoing a major turnaround at its emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber (ESBR) plant in Schkopau, Germany.
The revamp includes the installation of new process control and automation systems, energy efficiency improvements and as well as “state-of-the-art” technology upgrades at the site, Trinseo told ERJ in a written statement.
“As one of the leaders in synthetic polymer technology we have a broad product portfolio, focusing on speciality products, such as SSBR, while also producing core products such ESBR,” the company said in a statement, without offering further details.
In 2018, ESBR represented approximately 33% of total rubber segment net sales which stood at $572.5 million (€518 million).
The company’s ESBR products are used in standard tires, technical goods, and footware.
