Paris - Hutchinson SA has agreed to buy PFW Aerospace GmbH, a German supplier of tubes, ducts, as well as structural assemblies and components for the aerospace industry.
Based in Speyer, Germany, PFW is 74.9% owned by Airbus and 25.1% owned by Safeguard, said Hutchinson in a 16 Sept statement.
The company employs 2,000 people and, in addition to its German headquarters, has two manufacturing sites in Izmir, Turkey and Nuneaton, the UK.
Founded in 2011, PFW mainly supplies components to Airbus and Boeing, according to Hutchinson.
The acquisition, said the French company, will reinforce Hutchinson Aerospace’s fluid management expertise and help it become “a key player on the market.”
The transaction, terms of which were not disclosed, is subject to clearance from relevant authorities.
