Trelleborg, Sweden — Trelleborg AB's marine and infrastructure operation has supplied Puerto Costa Maya in Mexico with SeaGuard foam fenders and MSB-150 bollards.
The products were part of upgrades to Puerto Costa Maya's ports to simultaneously accommodate four cruise vessels, one more than before, including two Oasis-class cruise ships, according to a Trelleborg news release.
The supplied fenders use a polyethylene foam core and a thicker outer skin made to absorb impact and resist wear and tear.
They can be deployed floated or suspended against a quay wall or for ship-to-ship operations, and can be used in harbours or between vessels.
The fenders were added to both sides of the pier at the port, which attracts more than 1.5 million passengers a year.
