Milan, Italy – Pirelli & C. SpA has claimed a leading position in the automobile & components sector in the latest review of Dow Jones sustainability world and Europe indices.
The Italian tire maker scored a total of 85 points, considerably higher than the sector average of 36 points, the company announced 14 Sept.
Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones sustainability indices are among the key stock market indices with regard to sustainability, Pirelli noted.
The review, conducted annually by RobecoSam and S&P Dow Jones, covered over 2,000 companies from 61 industrial sectors and involved an integrated analysis of economic, environmental and social factors.
Only 10% of the companies assessed achieved the score needed for inclusion in the indices, Pirelli added.
