Sofia – A Bulgarian producer of technical parts is expanding its manufacturing base outside the capital Sofia to enable it to extend its business activities.
LIM Technics OOD plans to invest in the construction of a new production hall and an office building on a site in the Sofia-Bozhurishte Economic Zone, 12 kms west of the capital, according to Bulgaria’s Economy Ministry.
Formerly known as Silcotech Bulgaria, the company was renamed and began operating in March 2017.
It specialises in injection moulding single and multi-component plastic, silicone or metal parts used in cars, household appliances, electronic devices and medical consumables.
LIM Technics, which is investing more than €2m in the growth project, plans to hire around 40 workers for the new operation.
The firm, along with two other growing companies, received a formal development certificate for expansion in the Sofia-Bozhurishte Economic Zone in July from Bulgaria’s Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov.
The company is a partnership run by Udo and Fabian Lange, vice president and president respectively, who previously managed Silcotech group in Switzerland and in Bulgaria.
LIM Technics’s work is focused on fast prototyping, followed by serial production of a wide range of injection moulded components.
The firm uses 3D-printing to print test tools and parts within a short time, it explained.
Apart from the main injection moulding operation, LIM Technics has a modern mould making shop.
