People: IRCO appoints new chief executive
Bangkok - The International Rubber Consortium (IRCo) has appointed Picheat Prommoon as its chief executive officer, effective 1 Sept.
Prior to joining IRCo, Picheat was the director of Bangkok-based Rubber Research Institute of Thailand (RRIT), IRCo announced 10 Sept.
Headquartered in Bangkok, IRCO is the operational arm of the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC) and carries out the strategic market activities of the council, which includes Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
In his new role, Picheat will continue implementing all programmes related to ITRC and IRCo’s 10-year plan.
IRCo's key objective, as stated by its website, is to achieve a long-term price trend that is stabilised, sustainable and remunerative to natural rubber farmers.
