Paris – French components manufacturer Hutchinson SA has completed the acquisition of a 60% stake in Thermal Control Systems Automotive (TCSA), from German automotive supplier Mann+Hummel.
Now a joint venture between the two companies, TCSA will be integrated into Hutchinson’s Fluid Management Systems operations and will deliver thermal management and cooling systems particularly for electric and hybrid vehicles.
Based in Laval, western France, TCSA has 60 employees and offers a complete range of active valves to manage the circulation of fluids inside a vehicle, Hutchinson announced 6 Sept.
The valves are adaptable to any type of platform and employ a technology which will 'significantly reduce' CO2 emissions, Hutchinson added.
“The creation of this joint venture… will enable us to propose a more global system offer for fluid management with multiple materials and extended functions,” said Thierry du Granrut, senior VP of strategy and business transformation at Hutchinson.
The investment is part of Hutchinson’s strategy to reinforce its position in the fluid management market for the automotive sector, particularly for hybrid and electric vehicles.
