James Heal venturing into rubber sector

Halifax, UK – James Heal, a manufacturer of textile testing instruments, is making its foray into the rubber sector with the launch of elongation measuring equipment Extensometer and Titan5e universal strength tester instrument.

With the new products, company has extended its range of offerings to 5kN and 10kN universal testing machines fitten with a long stroke contact extensometer, suited for manufacturers in the vulcanised rubber and thermoplastic elastomers markets.

“The instruments are versatile enough to test a wide range of materials from tires, conveyor belts, hoses and bowling balls to shoe soles, medical catheters, roofing materials, sealing rings and vehicle tracks,” said the company 9 Sept.

The Titan strength tester, already used in the textile, employs James Heal’s intuitive TestWise operating system, which helps increase the operational efficiency of laboratories and reduce testing downtime.

The software is pre-loaded with rubber test standards from ASTM and ISO, as well as a library of other material testing standards.

TestWise transfers the test parameters, as specified in the standard, to the instrument for automatic set up and control.

“The addition of our long stroke contact extensometer makes it ideal for measuring stress and strain measurements of elastomeric materials,” said Andrew Hemingway, commercial director at James Heal.
