London – Apollo Tyres Ltd has announced a recruitment drive for its Greenfield facility soon to be built at Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary.
In the first round, according to the company, 100 technicians and fresh graduate engineers will be appointed.
The first group will participate in a two-month theoretical training followed by a three-month trip to India, where they will be trained for roles at the Hungarian factory.
Another 150 people will be selected in a second recruitment drive in second half of 2015, added the announcement.
Production is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2017, but the first batch of employees for the Hungarian factory will be contracted in early July 2015.
According to Apollo, in addition to technicians and engineers, it is also seeking applications for various functional areas including administration and logistics.
The plant, once completed, will be Apollo’s most modern plant with a capacity to produce 5.5 million passenger car & light truck (PCLT) tires and 675,000 heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) and bus tires per annum.
Products from the Gyöngyöshalász facility will mostly be for the European market.
