Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio—X-Compound GmbH has opened a customer and application center at the site of its sister company, Troester Machinery Ltd., in Cuyahoga Falls.
X-Compound, a producer of continuous kneaders, was founded in 1997 and acquired by Hanover, Germany-based Troester Group in 2011.
The main part of the new Cuyahoga Falls center is the Continuous Kneader CK45 that the firm said "can be used to simulate demanding and complex compounding processes."
The continuous kneaders, particularly, have an advantage in applications that are temperature or shear sensitive, or are highly filled compound, X-Compound said in a statement.
"Our Application Center gives us the possibility to show our technology in detail and in operation," X-Compound managing director Andreas Fischer said in a statement.
Troester Machinery president Zach Boaz said customers will be able to gain practical experience with the technology during draining courses.
The equipment is designed for both plastics and rubber compounding.
